Dishes: My Nemesis

Yesterday I took tiny bites out of the clutter in our home.

I even had the kids stop playing around 4pm for a “Five Minute Pickup”. The living room is pretty tidy this morning. The school/den area is pretty tidy. Even the Little’s room is still pretty picked up. I didn’t make any great progress in any new spaces. Maintaining what had been done was a big deal to me though!

A while ago, I read a great eBook from Nony (@ASlobComesClean) on baby steps to getting your house in order and LOVED it. That was at the old house. This one hasn’t been unpacked all the way yet. It creates an additional challenge.

My only issue with her book was that it started with dishes.

My nemesis. 28 Days To Hope for Your Home @ASlobComesClean @TheTadey

The dishes make me bonkers.

I don’t mind washing them.

Once I get started I could stand there and wash all of them, even the clean ones!

But getting me to the sink? It’s like trying to bathe a cat.

She wants me to do the dishes after dinner – every stinkin’ night.

Crazy right?

*sigh*

Who wants to come put these dishes away so I can wash some more before I have to leave at lunchtime?

Anyone…..

anyone….

Bueller?

Fine. I’ll go do the dishes.

I guess if I had done the dishes last night like Nony suggested I wouldn’t have this problem huh?

Love and Blessings, The Tadey

What?? EVERY night? Yeah, that would help me out a lot, too. The dishes are my nemesis – I agree with every word of this post. Thanks for letting me know I’m not alone!

I swear they multiply when you aren’t looking! I loathe putting them away and I abhor having to pre-wash them before I put them in the dishwasher. Dishes are my nemesis too!

I almost spit my coffee out when I saw the TITLE of this blog. Oh my, I have SO BEEN THERE! For me personally, I can’t do the dishes every night. I’ve tried. It just. Never. Happens. I did however manage to make a habit of doing the dishes every MORNING. So at least every day starts out with no dirty dishes. Just getting the dishes done can sometimes make a world of difference. You will find the habit that works best for you! And in my house, there are only three of us, so I can only imagine the number of dishes you have! *hugs*
