One of the things I love about blogging is the seclusion.
I get to have friends and be sociable without ever leaving my house. I can tell you who I am, or I can hide behind an anonymous gravatar. I can share and still keep up my wall.
In 2011, one of those friends, whom I had never met in person, sponsored my ticket to Relevant (Allume). She didn’t do it because she thought I needed some workshops on blogging. She didn’t do it because she thought the conference would change my heart. She did it because she wanted to meet me – in real life.
I still cry when I think about it. I’m not sure Cassie will ever fully understand how she blessed me the day she emailed me my ticket.
I learned a lot about blogging. I felt encouraged about my home, school and family. My heart was filled to overflowing with joy. My spirit renewed.
I met so many wonderful ladies. I laughed so hard I cried. I entered the conference feeling like a groupie that had just been invited backstage and left feeling like a member of the band.
It has been almost a year and a half since I attended that conference. So much has changed. New house. New adventures at The Homeschool Post. New goals. New confidence.
I am hungry to learn more. I am hungry to move forward. I am hungry to come out of seclusion again and meet the people I so readily call my friends and my family.
I want to attend the Blissdom Conference in Dallas.
Go big or go home, right?
So I did what everyone should do first: I prayed.
Then I talked it over with the Mr.
He has already taken the time off from work to stay home with the kids. His faith in me leaves me speechless.
Then, I was blessed with a room.
All I need now is the ticket ($399) and a flight. It’s probably close to $600 just to get me there.
I’m not going to be able to do this on my own. This is where you can help.
Are you a business that would be interested in sponsoring a blogger to find some “Bliss”? I have a shiny new media kit just waiting to be emailed! I would love to discuss options for partnering with you.
If your one of my wonderful friends, online sisters, or readers whose hearts are generous and you’d like to give the gift of a iced coffee (it’s Dallas ya’ll… it gets hot in Texas) or some travel snacks, just use the little PayPal button below. You’ll be blessing my socks off ya’ll.
I promise, if I get there…NO….WHEN I get there, I will take great notes. I will listen. I will learn. I will pray. I will bring what I learn back home. I will work hard to bring the Bliss back home to share it with you here and at The Homeschool Post.
Thank you, for helping me to get this put in my sidebar:
